I just finished you new book "Barack Obama - A Slobbering Love Affair" and although it was no suprise to read about the left leaning slant the traditional U.S media has towards the Demaocrats and Obama in particular, it's even worse in Canada. As you might be aware this is a socialist country disguised as a democracy. Most of the media is balantly liberal and the Conservatives here are looked upon with disdain. No matter what they do they are always accused of having a "secret agenda" like lower taxes, less govenment spending, smaller government etc. And the way our media types covered Obama was embarrassing. We are now comparing all of politicians to Obana and according to our media we are coming up horribly short. I digress. I just want to say that I have read (and purchased) all of your books and have enjoyed them immensely. I also enjoy your apperances on The O'Reilly Factor. You are concise and to the point and very articulate. But for the most part always right as well. You have a permanent fan here in Canada and look forward to more of your writing in the future.

One thing I always remember as a kid was watching the Ameican news with my parents. I distinctly remember the feeling I got that the Republicans were bad and the Democrats were good. I guess those were the days when the mainsteam media were the gods of opinion. Hopefully with your help and the awakening of the American (and Canadian) people we can change that.

Pick up Feb 16s Newsweek if you can. Granted, it is a liberal rag, but you (of all people) need to read the 'glowing' article about Canada on page 31: "Worthwhile Canadian Initiative". Just the picture caption (picture of Mounties) alone will kill you: Canada's Finest: A country built on common sense. My 'favorite' part:

The US currently has a brain-dead immigration system. We issue a small number of work visas and green cards, turning away from our shores thousands of talented students who want to stay and work here. Candad, by contrast, has no limit on the number of skilled migrants who can move to the country. They can apply on their own for a Canadian Skilled Worker Visa, which allows them to become perfectly legal "permanent residents" [note from me: uh...if it's legal, why did he use quotation marks?] in Canada - no need for a sponsoring employer, or even a job.

You should also pick up James Delingpole's "Welcome to Obamaland". He a Brit who's written a fantastic book about how the liberals will screw up America just as they've screwed up the UK. VERY informative read (and funny, to boot).

For the first time in a LOOOONG time. A Canadian friend of mine has been laughing at us, because of Barry getting elected....and they (and most of Europe) are going the other way.

I am amazed at how people from other lands (the US included) seem to know what it's like to live in Canada. We just did elect a Conservative government but since our system is based on the Brirish parliamentary system, the Conservative government only achieved a minority of 145 seats in parliament. They require 155 out of 308 seats for a majority. The Conservatives are being blackmailed by the two major leftist parties, the Liberals, and the NDP (New Democratic Party) and are able to manipulate the Conservatives by threatening them with non confidence motions. As well before Christmas, the three parties , Liberal, NDP and the Bloc Quebecois (the Separatist Party in Canada ) formed a coalition to overthrow the elected Conservative minority goverment in what was a minor political coup attempt. As far as immigration goes it is widely known that Canada has become the "sucker nation of the world" for it's lax immigration policies. If our immigration was based on bringing the cream of the crop from foriegn nations that would help our industries and creat wealth in Canada it would be great. Unfortunately, the immigration is based on the acquisiton of power by the leftists, not unlike the Democrats in the U.S., that want open borders and allow all the flotsum and jetsum from all over the world into our country which assure that they will vote for them. Just look at California. Almost bankrupt from having to take care of millions of illegal immigrants and no suprise they all vote Democrat. Canada is truly on of the greatest countries in the world to live in as is the U.S. Unfortunately this is all disappearing. I'm going to hang on to my hockey and Canadian beer as long as I can until some left wing hut either taxes it out of existence or declares it illegal because I don''t want to share it with some illegal refugee from an Islamic state that just want to cut my head off anyway.

Thanks for viewing my band site. Our new CD will be out at the end of March and available on CD Baby and I Tunes. Imagine that we did this record with no monies from any government agency and no grants. It's called independent responsibilty. Jeffrey, I play Yamaha Recording Customs with the cream white shells. I have a 22 " bass drum, a 6 1/2 inch Dennis Chambers Custom Snare in white, my power toms are 10 X 8, 12 X 11, 13 X 11, 16 x 20 floor tom and all mounted on a Pearl curved racking system with a DW 5000 double bass pedal, a Yamaha hi hat stand built to accomodate the double bass pedal. I have 14" Sabian regular hi hats, a 18 inch Zilidjian crash ride with rivets, 14" Sabian Thin Crash, 8 " Sabian splash. 14" Sabain Studio crash, 20 " !959 Zildjian Medium ride, and a 20" Sabian Leopard ride. I play Dennis Chambers sticks made I believe by Ludwig (not sure). My influnces are Gary Tomlin (my drum teacher in Kitchener Ontario), Tony Williams, John Bonham, Phil Collins, Claude Ranger (French Canadian Drummer) , Ed Thigpen, Steve Gadd, Vinnie Colliuta and Paul Delong (Toronto Drummer). Nice stuff, Ken. I play a dark blue Tama Rockstar Pro (8", 10", 12" 13" and 16" toms, 22" bass, plus a mid-80's Imperialstar metal snare) with Sabian AA series: 4 crashes, medium ride, 18" Rocktagon, 18" China, 6" disc, and an 8" HH splash. All Tama hardware, and I'm starting to think not a single professional plays on my model double pedal, a strap-drive. I was inspired by Bonham, Simon Phillips, John Panozzo, Phil Ehart, Jeff Porcaro, and Ian Paice. Watching Buddy play a solo on Carson one night planted a seed in my head as well.
Mike Portnoy, and Spock's Beard's Jimmy Keegan & Nick D'Virgilio are my faves to listen to nowadays.

Yes Neil Peart is definitley a great one. He lives near me in Toronto. The guy in Def Leppard definitley desrves kudos for tenacity.

Both highly-regarded drummers in the business, and rightly so.

For me, Allen gets respect for the obvious reason, but even before his accident he laid a nice pocket and knew how to play for the song.

Peart has great technical command, and it is no small feat to compose drum parts like he has.

This is a simple, easy post. Just saw Bernard Goldberg's interview with Howard Kurtz on CNN. His accusations of liberal bias and the media's "love affair" with Barrack Obama may be a fair question. But when pressed by Kurtz about Fox News and their own bias--in the context of the Bill Ayers story--he claims that the story was legitimate and that there was no right wing bias. What a hypocrite! Bernard Goldberg is a joke and proved he has no credibility as a journalist.
