We are being denied by the media our most fundamental constitutional intention. Representative government of,for, by. If we are prevented communication with those who represent because the press filters, cuts, pastes, and therefore half-truth-lies, then they are not truly able to represent, (communicate), with their constituents.
Communication to our representative is eclipsed because the press presumes to speak for the people going so far that Representatives Know they must primarily please the media, constituents are just photo ops.
THIS IS about Free Speech. Our free speech is violated because Polls are NOT MY communication. Half crafty engineered truth is a lie. Media engineered public perception is NOT SELF GOVERNMENT!
The Politicians Free Speech is censored, deleted, defamed, mis-represented. So what should we do?
First we must recognize that the rights "endowed by our creator" (T.J.) never change but must be held on course as living principle. Then we must remember why our founding fathers acted. Jefferson, and the Federalist writers quoting contemporary enlightenment philosophers made us realize that Monarchy, and Elite Aristocrats become arrogant and poorly serve the will of the people. Media Celebrities of all stripes exhibit the same syndrome. (Super Del in the D party were created because: "D voters chose the wrong candidate". "They cannot be trusted". "This must never happen again" (DNC 1968)
What do we do? Let us first realize we must do something. Madison, Hamilton... could not have anticipated this. THEN realize that this is not an attack on free Speech this is DEFENSE of Free Speech. Let us "Highly resolve that a Government OF the PEOPLE, BY the People and FOR the People shall not perish" (A.L.) Then find a way.
