08-09 NHL Season

The regular season will be starting up shortly and it seems like it was just the other month that the Red Wings hoisted up their 4th Stanley cup in 11 years. The Wings will definitely be a playoff contender (they've appeared in the playoffs every year for the last 15 or so years, a pro sports record) and I do think with the depth they added at the end of last season with Marian Hossa will potentially see them as a Cup contender again. 8)

Hossa signed with the Wings specifically because he wants to win a Stanley Cup and no other team he could think of wants to win the Cup as bad as he does. He definitely signed on with a good team. Are they a dynasty? That's open to debate as you'd have to top teams like the Canadiens and Oilers of years gone by.

I just wish I was at home to see the Wings hoist up their Stanley Cup banner at their first home game of the season. Good stuff.

My brother is a die-hard San Jose Sharks fan. I'm still checking in to make sure he's staying away from pill bottles & sharp objects, and has "Suicide Hotline" available!

How about them Flyers! I am a die hard Flyer fan of course coming from Philly that is a given. I could not believe they beat Boston four in a row, I don't think Boston can believe it either.

We are back in Chicago tonight with the series tied at two, it should be one helluva game.

Go Flyers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well they sure don't have anything to be ashamed of, they played well and gave the fans a couple of fantastic series. Although I moved to CO in 1999 I will always be a Flyer fan. Maybe next season.
