naked pics are good.

the biggest problem tho, is that without active promotion, these sites don't keep growing. Bernie originally only wanted a small site to promote his books, all the bells and whistles on here were my idea...

long story short, a political site needs a reason to draw people in, and since this site is new only as of Bernie's third book, and since that book is getting older, and since Bernie doesn't push the site too hard when he makes appearances, its hard to get traffic and interest here, altho i bet we see an upward tick when the paperback comes out.

the problem isn't who's leaving, its why aren't we getting more to come?

Hah! How funny

Seriously... I suggest if you want people to come, put other things on the website. Don't ask me what, just be creative, but make it a multipurpose site, then wherever guests go, have a big banner up top "Join Bernard Goldberg's Fan Site" something like that.

It is on the back flap of the book jacket, under his photo if I remember correctly....well, actually only the main site. I wanted to originally just send Mr. Goldberg an e-mail to say "Hey, great book!", so I was rather surprised when I hit contact and saw all of this. I wouldn't say "Fan Club", though, because that has a tendency to deter people or, on the flip side, attract nutjobs.

Whats happening

Unread postby clynt » Thu May 18, 2006 10:17 am

What's happening here? You've got to be kidding. On this site you play conservative music and everyone dances. In order for sites like this to survive, you must at the very least be open to ideas that fall outside the realm of Hannity and Limbaugh. I know most here don't believe this but they are wrong a good part of the time. Oh and by the way, they get paid rather well to wallow in those idealistic cesspools with Robertson and Falwell. This is 50-50 world at best. If you think that conservative thinking is right more than that, you are very much mistaken. The same thing applies to Liberal thinking. 8)

The fact is that there is not much new going on. The war is the war, ilegals are still coming in and we are paying for them. Their is no bipatrisanship either in the congress or senate. Howard Dean is still manking and ass out of himself and Beauburt still sings the same old song. Really not a lot to talk about.

I see this is your first post here, so you may be unaware that a few lefties do make appearances from time to time. They are vigorously engaged when they do, just as I, who post from time to time on a leftie site, am there. If you really want to see viciousness, take a look at some of the reactions on some of those leftie sites when a Conservative dares to make an appearance. The reaction to Liberals here is mild compared to what I've seen on those places, and those kinds of reactions here would certainly result in Mr. S. taking action against the perpetrator.

So, if we are each right 50% of the time, why are we wasting our time? I think the Right is right far more often than that, as I am sure you think your side is (But of course I'm right!).

That's what I get for breaking my rule and addressing a poster personally. I don't really care which side you're on, I believe you get my point.

I know it looks like that, (and to an extent, you're right, of course) but in the past, when we all first got here, we disagreed on all sorts of things. Now it's just a case of knowing where one stands on most issues, so it doesn't come up much anymore.

For example, no one would start with me on gun control (I positively hate it, whereas most people here think some is necessary) or gay marriage (what do I care as it has nothing to do with heteros, whereas many here think it affects all of society) or, a pretty good debate a while back, mandatory sentencing (if judges refuse to properly punish child predators I say we take it out of their hands, while some here argue this damages our entire system).

So people here certainly don't agree on everything--or if they do, it's coincidence b/c they have totally different reasons. It's just that a lot of us have already talked about it.

clynt wrote:In order for sites like this to survive, you must at the very least be open to ideas that fall outside the realm of Hannity and Limbaugh. Most of us are completely open to ideas. The only time I get lippy is if someone comes here, insults Bernie (w/o reading his book as is often the case) or if someone is mean to me first. I can hear ideas all day... but if it's a really dumb idea, that will, most likely, be mentioned.

But seriously, to compare Rush and Sean to Robertson and Falwell shows ignorance. I've dedicated at least two threads to my disdain for Robertson and have disliked Falwell since I was old enough to know who he was.

And at least conservatives are willing to take out their own trash. Robertson accuses people in PA of "kicking God out of their city" and all but tells them if something bad happens, God won't help them, and what happens? Reasonable conservatives like me get irritated and say so. Falwell implies that 9/11 was a result of our "moral decline" in this country, and conservatives are embarrassed and tell him where he can stick it.

On the other hand, the ACLU tries to take the word "God" out of our Pledge (b/c, wow, that's so offensive) and at the same time represents child molesters--NAMBLA--in an MA lawsuit (b/c... um... NAMBLA's not offensive?) and liberals say nothing about how off their buddies at the ACLU are. Howard Dean says he "hates all Republicans" and makes some reference to Republicans only knowing black people as "the help" and what do Democrats do? Nothing. Oh wait... except make him the head of the DNC.

So be reasonable. While many mainstream conservatives enjoy Sean and Rush, I can't think of anyone who likes Robertson or Falwell. They aren't mainstream now and, to my knowledge, have never been. That comparison is bogus.

And just b/c you make money at something, that doesn't mean you're a fake or that you don't care about it. Or if it does, that means everyone in the world is greedy and nobody really means anything.

You don't think it's more one-sided than that, either way? Do you not believe there's any actual truth?

Whats happening

Unread postby clynt » Thu May 18, 2006 2:59 pm

Limbaugh and Hannity are what they are. They are not nearly so vile as Teddy or Schumer or Rawl. But I do believe the world is 50-50 Tiffany and if you are as you say, you should not say that is ignorant because that is a nice way of saying I am ignorant. I really have no affiliations and take things more on a case by case basis. I was not making a comparison of Hannity - Falwell or Robertson. I was lumping because I think that television or radio whores are every bit as reprehensible as religious zealots.

Let me give you a good example of misunderstanding. Cap'n Billy has a quote at the bottom of his page concerning the Cadet Aviation Program and how it the basis for USAF pilots for 44 years(1917-1961). Actually he is about 50% right. The USAF was not formed until 1947. Prior to that it was known as the Army Air Corp. Now I acknowledge that this is nit-picking and I realize he was not trying to decieve anyone because there is no purpose, however, it does tend to demonstrate how and innocent remark can be turned around.
It won't take long to find that I am no liberal. I do, however stand by my remarks that it is necessary to indulge the views of others and then challenge them with good rhetoric excluding, idiot, moron, ignorant, et al.
