I am replaying an interview that I did with you (Bernie) a couple of months ago. But I wanted to share this with the readers of this message board.
I do a weekend talk show on WNOX radio in Knoxville and my show recently was moved to a new time slot. Now my show airs right before a show called "The Left Turn" which is hosted by Mark Harmon. Mark is a professor of Journalism and Electronic Media at the University of Tennessee. Mark also was my academic advisor, though I never had him for a class while at UT. Mark is clearly a liberal, the title of his show does not hide this fact, nor does he. (To disclose my leanings, I am more of a moderate to conservative person.)
A couple of weeks ago, I mentioned that I may have a conflict one week and I may replay my conversation with BG since my new Saturday listeners did not hear it the first time. Mark told me that it was irresponsible of me to air the interview. He said that "that terrible book of lies" has been discredited by him and others. I questioned him on that, stated that there were many good points in both "Bias" and "Arrogance" and how much I looked forward to the new book. (By the way, if Mark had any real influence, he might make the second 100.)
So this weekend, I will air the interview, Mark will hear it, and best of all, he will have to sit and stew on it for a week since I will not be in studio for him to come and complain to.
I enjoyed the day when liberals were the ones who encouraged open discussion. I guess that liberal ideals only apply when you agree with them. If you disagree, you are not of opposing views. With Mark, and sadly too many others, you are simply WRONG when you disagree. AND THAT IS THE PROBLEM!
Anyone else have an opinion on this? Please share.
