Independents Not All Undecided

Independents are portrayed as middle of the road, undecided, wishy-washy, etc. I strongly disagree. Many abandon the two party system because we saw the Dems and GOP as middle of the road, undecided, wishy-washy, etc. I'm very conservative (much more than the GOP is perceived to be) and I have friends who are more liberal than the Dems are perceived to be. Politicians who are trying to dilute their message so as to appeal to Independents are self destructing, in my humble opinion, that is why I became an Independent to begin with (a diluted message). Wasn't it Abe Lincoln who advised against trying to please(or was it fool?) all the people all the time. I hope the politicians will eventually stand for something so they will quit falling for anything.(A phrase from a country song, just don't know who to credit). Independents are just that, about as easy to herd into one category as cats.

Welcome to the forum, Ron. I certainly hope you return.

I do agree with you to certain extent. Independents can be wishywashy, but it's my opinion that these so called independents are pretty much indifferent to elections until late in the game. They don't watch political news constantly like so many involved people do. This can be problem b/c I bet they more than likely just tune in to CNN or say the alphabet newscasts and considering our liberal MSM are cheerleaders, short of wearing the short skirts, it does not bode well for us on the Right. Now how that could possibly change, I don't know. Only way I do see a change is if new media continues to rise and organizations like Breitbart.com are considered news sources. And as a footnote, i believe that aforementioned org. will one day meet that goal.
