All I can say is...WOW! The moment Newt said "but I will" everyone in the room knew exactly what was coming. And did it ever. That is exactly the 'fire in the belly' Newt brings to the dance and it is exactly what we need to defeat Barack Obama. No other candidate in this race can articulate the conservative position better than him; no other candidate will take the fight to the liberal media with as much vigor; no other candidate will absolutely mop the floor with Obama in debate and no other candidate will cause the liberal media to overplay their hand should he win the nomination. Should he become the nominee they will become nothing short of apoplectic and they will be picking on the wrong man, as we are seeing now. We have been complaining about the media for many years, it's time to lock and load and fully take them on and no one does it better. A Gingrich candidacy will also bring about the Armageddon of left vs. right as the utterly stark contrast between Gingrich and Obama cannot be overstated. This will be the inevitable battle we conservatives always knew would come one day and I believe the time is now. This election will determine whether our children will live under a failed and bankrupt welfare state ruled by power hungry bureaucrats and unelected jurists or as free men and women in a self-governed, free-market, capitalist society as our forefathers intended. I believe no other candidate in this race can make that case to the American people better than Newt Gingrich, and with his commanding victory in South Carolina it looks like he may just get that chance. Forget all the naysayer talk about his 'baggage', America will ignore all that after the very first debate, IF Obama has the guts to engage him. Let's roll.
"If a nation values anything more than freedom, it will lose its freedom; and the irony of it is that if it is comfort or money that it values more, it will lose that, too." --English playwright and author W. Somerset Maugham (1874-1965)
