No...but I will

All I can say is...WOW! The moment Newt said "but I will" everyone in the room knew exactly what was coming. And did it ever. That is exactly the 'fire in the belly' Newt brings to the dance and it is exactly what we need to defeat Barack Obama. No other candidate in this race can articulate the conservative position better than him; no other candidate will take the fight to the liberal media with as much vigor; no other candidate will absolutely mop the floor with Obama in debate and no other candidate will cause the liberal media to overplay their hand should he win the nomination. Should he become the nominee they will become nothing short of apoplectic and they will be picking on the wrong man, as we are seeing now. We have been complaining about the media for many years, it's time to lock and load and fully take them on and no one does it better. A Gingrich candidacy will also bring about the Armageddon of left vs. right as the utterly stark contrast between Gingrich and Obama cannot be overstated. This will be the inevitable battle we conservatives always knew would come one day and I believe the time is now. This election will determine whether our children will live under a failed and bankrupt welfare state ruled by power hungry bureaucrats and unelected jurists or as free men and women in a self-governed, free-market, capitalist society as our forefathers intended. I believe no other candidate in this race can make that case to the American people better than Newt Gingrich, and with his commanding victory in South Carolina it looks like he may just get that chance. Forget all the naysayer talk about his 'baggage', America will ignore all that after the very first debate, IF Obama has the guts to engage him. Let's roll.

I said in the beginningI would never vote for Newt,...BUT,after watching that debate when he sliced and diced the the CNN guy asking him that lame question about what his exwife said ,,..well at that moment he had my vote....I can say that may have been the first time I actually liked Newt as a person.

He got my respect by not backing down and taking the question head on.I like people that don't come on as holier then though, never did anything wrong or had any personal issues..A REAL person, not just the smartest guy in the room, but one that also had some real issues in his private life that actually didn't matter..I mean who am I to judge that kind of stuff..I am far from perfect and I am SMART enough to actually understand that very few people are perefect, though some may come off as if they are.

Yep,I think he may just be someone who can beat Obama..so he'll have my vote. And I could care less about how many times he has been married or what issues caused them to divorce..whatever they were it seemed the Ex was aware of them and not lied to about them like Jon Edwards wife was.

I considered EVERY canidate, even ones I did not agree on EVERY subject with...but now I can at least say now I am sure..I guess never say never.
I have learned you can't please everyone ..................But it's possible to make'em all mad at the same time.

The candidate to vote for is the one who you think will govern closest to your own principles, regardless of his/her personal life. For me, that disqualifies any living Democrat. It's that simple.

Robin it looks like women in SC agreed with you.

I was fascinated by home state last week. When I drove to SC last week, Romney was up by 10 points, then Drudge starts reporting about this explosive interview and when it would be run. It seems john King and CNN over stepped by leading off the debate with this sensational National Enquire like story and Newt wasn't havin' it. I'm not one to pay much attention to polls, but to win a primary by 12 points considering those polls, that was quite a feat. Other numbers I'm seeing is that Newt did well with independents. I'm still looking into the national numbers because they keep saying that Gingrich polls the worst against Obama. Either those numbers are full of crap or SC is nothing like the rest of the country.

I will say as a side note. A friend of mine made an interesting point. He doesn't think any of the four candidates can beat Obama, and if we are to go down this election, he'd rather go down fighting with Newt charging the way.

Holly, what surprised me was that he polled well among married women which was somewhat unexpected because that was supposed to be a weak point, even among Republicans. Not so it would seem, thanks in no small part to his debate performance in your fine state. I've also heard some conservatives say no one can beat Obama and I think they're full of it. Put Newt on the national stage for a couple months, give him the opportunity (something he didn't really have even when he was SOTH) to clearly and concisely make the conservative case to America and watch what happens. Then enjoy the debates and watch him show America that Obama doesn't belong in the same room with him intellectually or philosophically. If Obama gets another term we are surely finished as a great nation, IMO it's got to be Newt, a president Romney would be just as distasteful as a president Boehner, we'll still go down, only slower. This is our last chance to save the nation from the abyss, here's hoping Newt can clinch the nomination ASAP so he has the maximum amount of time to make the case. And make it he surely will.

M R ..when I saw them pulling out the ex wife I thought, you have got to be kidding

I shudder to think how many people with ex wives or ex husbands would enjoy having that brought into a debate.(I know i wouldn't have :? )

I have NO idea if Newt can beat Obama..I sure think he can out debate him and am looking forward to seeing him do that.I'm still surprised that I actually like Newt now and it took that one question for me to change my mind about the man.I always new he was smart ,but I didn't like him,,I do now.I hope he does well here in FL.

People who knew me years ago are shocked at how I feel now.I just say to them I guess I woke up
