HRC Pardon

As the courts have approved, and prior practice has adopted, the concept of preemptive pardon, the question whether HRC should be granted a presidential pardon for her past misdeeds needs to be addressed.

I think so, for the following reasons and subject to the following conditions.

Reasons:

The destruction of a 30-year-old dream under such ignoble and humiliating circumstances is probably sufficient punishment.

The relief of no longer having HRC in the public eye cannot be overestimated.

The conditions:

The Clinton Foundation and its offshoots should be put in the hands of an independent trustee having no ties to Hillary or Bill Clinton. All Foundation funds diverted to the personal use of any Clinton, including, without limitation, Chelsea’s wedding should be restored.

HRC should surrender to the State Department all classified material and should, of course, be denied access to any such material that is generated in the future.

A comparable pardon should be granted to others who have been punished for the possession or illegal dissemination of classified material, e.g., General Petraeus and Kristian Saucier.

I regret that there is no clear way of making HRC compensate for her culpability in connection with the tragic loss of life in Benghazi. Any suggestions?

P.S. The height of irony is HRC blaming her Icarian downfall on poor James Comey, who saved her ample ass by not recommending indictment for legal violations he meticulously cataloged before caving to political pressure.

P.P.S. It might be a nice touch for BO to leave it to Trump to grant the pardon after the inauguration, a la Ford/Nixon.
