A day doesn't go by when a media outlet fans the flames of hatred and puts the lives of innocent people in jeopardy with garbage journalism, the media is no longer a forum for information, it has become a three ring circus, where clown journalist try to sensitize the news by creating their version of events, instead of reporting the facts, it doesn't take much for white journalists who work at legitimate media outlets or civil right leaders who earn a living by race and gender baiting to under report or even out right lie in their reporting, for their own gratification, In the case involving George Zimmerman, a innocent couple home were mobbed and their lives put in danger when Spike Lee put out the wrong address of George Zimmerman, in the Duke Lacrosse rape case, irresponsible journalist nearly caused innocent people to go to jail and in the case involving Rodney King the media caused a riot with their appetite for sensualism instead of honest journalism, most Americans don't know the difference between hard news and commentary, when irresponsible commentators like Ed Shultz and comedians like Bill Mahr make derogatory statements about women, a l.ot of their followers use their words as an excuse to their followers to do harm against innocent people, a press card or worthless Ebay discounted Pulitzer doesn't give you the right to directly or indirectly cause harm to bystanders, the first amendment was designed to protect honest journalists from retribution from government officials they were investigations, it's not suppose to protect irresponsible or corrupt media outlets from making derogatory statements on the airwaves or in print, if the media can't police their own industry, then the public has to demand that irresponsible news outlets be held liable for their actions.

Bill Maher isn't a journalist. He's a comedian and social commentator. He doesn't hide his prejudices or bias. The same can be said of Jon Stewart. In that way, they are no different from Bill O'Reilly.

If you want irresponsible journalism - look no further than Fox News. Here's an example of what I mean http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p0kYzTkFY_A It seems that Fox and Friends is just as eager to torque the truth as the so-called mainstream media.
